Upcoming Events and News
The Writing Center Journal has recently received a number of strong submissions and we need time to get caught up. We are temporarily closing our manuscript pipeline at the end of March to read and respond to the submissions we already have. If you have an article ready, send now. If you have already submitted a manuscript, please know that we are giving all submissions our attention. We will reopen submissions on July 1st, 2016. While our pipeline will be closed for the next few months, we are still active and available to answer any questions you might have about your current research and writing projects.
We are excited to announce May's WCJ blogger, Dr. Beatrice Mendez Newman! Beatrice Mendez Newman is professor of rhetoric and composition in the Writing and Language Studies Department at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. She has served as Writing Center Director and is now back in the classroom working with first year writers and upper division students. She has published her research and scholarly writing in The Writing Center Journal, The Writing Lab Newsletter, The English Journal, and Voices from the Middle. Throughout this month, Beatrice will be discussing important issues regarding writing center work at Hispanic Serving Institutions
